Afloat is a small Cocoa plug-in that adds "Keep Floating", "Always on Top" and "Make Transparent" commands to the Window menu of many Mac applications.
"Always on Top" will keep the window always on top (even if you switch applications), while "Make Transparent" will allow you to set a translucency level for the window. "Keep Floating" will do both things at once with a single keystroke, letting you have important windows where you want them without even having to think about it.
It also allows for window movement by dragging windows from anywhere (not just the title bar) while holding down the control and command keys.
